The actor will be shooting far away from his home city for over a year, according to Mumbai Mirror.
A source told the paper: "Since it is a two-month-long schedule, Vivek wanted his family to be with him. Also, he prefers his wife's food. So, even if he stays with his family in a hotel, he wouldn't get the meals he is fond of.
"Right now, his team is scouting for either a house or a bungalow for the Oberoi family. He has some portions of the Krrish sequel to shoot for. And so, if producer Rakesh Roshan needs him for some days in January, he will have to fly back to Mumbai."
Oberoi confirmed the news, saying that he wanted to spend as much time with his family as possible during the shoot.
In May, Oberoi threw a children's party-themed celebration for his mother's birthday as she had never had a birthday party before.
