The actress takes on the role of an "automobile queen" in the remake of 1960s classic The Italian Job.
Basu told DNA India: "Players is only an adaptation of [The Italian Job]; a few alterations have definitely been made to make it commercially viable in India. I play the role of a girl called Riya who is one automobile queen.
"She knows everything there is to know about cars and if a situation requires it, she can even be the man."
Basu added: "I don't know much about cars but I did exactly what I was asked to do and I think I have been quite convincing. For instance in Rituparno's Shob Choritro Kalponik, my role was intense and serious and in Players, I will do some serious action. I guess I am one of those actors who can be emotional as well as kick ass in a bikini."
She admitted recently that she finds it "tough work" looking good enough to wear a bikini on screen.
