The Dabanng star has been monitoring the box office success of the action sequel since its release last week, according to The Times of India.
"Salman was keeping an account of the collections of Don 2 ever since it hit the theatres on December 23. Distributors were calling him up every hour to keep him updated on the latest collections," a source told the paper.
"Salman was even taking down notes. After he had evaluated the weekend collections of the film, Salman was heard telling his friends how it was important not to waste money on film promotions.
"He kept a poker straight face. We couldn't guess how he felt."
In November, it was rumoured that Shah Rukh Khan had fallen out with Aamir Khan over rumours that the latter was keeping an eye on box office takings from Ra.One.
