The star claimed on a recent promotional visit to the UK that the heist movie will be enjoyed by fans of the director duo.
Bachchan said: "It's an entertaining film and the UK audience will really enjoy it. If you are an Abbas-Mustan fan and like the kind of action and thriller film they make, then definitely go and watch it."
The actor plays the role of Goan Charlie Masceranhas, a chartered accountant by day and master thief by night.
The official remake of 1969 British hit The Italian Job has been shot near Russia's Arctic Circle, New Zealand and India.
"Like any Abbas-Mustan film, Players is full of entertainment, with a fantastic plot and a great film to start your New Year with," said Sunil Shah, head of film distribution at B4U Pictures.
Filmmakers Abbas-Mustan are behind earlier thriller projects including Ajnabee, 36 China Town, Naqaab and Race.
Players will release in cinemas on January 6.
