The actor's first project since his conviction for sexually abusing a domestic assistant has had a number of key scenes removed, The Times of India reports.
Expressing his anger at the changes, director Puja Jatinder Bedi said: "The censor board cut one of the most important scenes in my film.
"It's a scene where the ghost gets crucified like Jesus Christ. The scene was very pivotal for the screenplay."
However, censor board representative JP Singh defended the changes made to the production.
"That scene is still there in the film. Only its length has been shortened to reduce the impact of the extreme brutality shown on a girl," he said.
"The examining committee has given five - six cuts. All of them were extremely brutal. There was a scene showing a dead body's legs being cut. Another excessively violent scene showed a girl being beaten for a very long time by many people."
Delhi-based actor and model Manish Upadhyay, who plays a negative role in Ghost, was arrested on Saturday for his involvement in a late-night car jacking incident in the Indian capital.
