Neil Nitin Mukesh dropped for Irrfan Khan in Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 2

The original film starred Jimmy Sheirgill, Mahie Gill and Randeep Hooda in the central roles.
Producer Rahul Mitra told Mumbai Mirror: "We felt that the script required an older actor. Neil would have been nice, and he was very excited to be part of the film. However, it was a creative decision that we took. We would love to work with Neil in the future.
"Irrfan's character is also from a royal family and takes great pride in the fact. However there are twists and turns, and he lands up in the haveli where the saheb and biwi live."
Khan admitted recently that he was concerned about how audiences will react to him in a darker role than normal in the forthcoming Thank You.
He said that female fans may be shocked to see him playing a Casanova.
The actor will next be seen in The Amazing Spider-Man alongside Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield and Rhys Ifans.
