The actress claimed that she has not previously heard the international hit featuring Beyoncé and Shakira.
She told Hindustan Times: "If we have a certain name in films or songs, they become very popular. So, I was known as Billo for the longest time.
"Over the years, a lot of filmmakers asked if they could name my character Bipasha or make a song with the name in it, but I have always been apprehensive about it.
"Salim-Sulaiman first made the composition and presented it to me. I really love their works. And I made my manager, family members and friends listen to it, and everyone simply loved it."
In a separate interview, composer Salim told Mid Day that he had tried to make sure that his music was completely original.
In August 2011, the Players star teamed up with Priyanka Chopra for hip-hop backing vocals on Ganesh Hegde's albums.
The actress reportedly introduced her close friend Salman Khan to poetry in the same month.
