Shahid Kapoor: 'Songs named after actors embarrassing'

Shahid Kapoor has revealed that he is against the current trend in Bollywood of name-checking stars' names in a song.

The actor said that the use of such tracks in a Hindi film is illogical, reports The Times of India.

"It's very personal. I would be embarrassed by it but I am sure a lot of people will like it. I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I think in films we play different characters, so how could you have songs on your own name is beyond my logic," said Kapoor.

Bipasha Basu has a track named after her in new release Jodi Breakers. Ex-girlfriend Kareena Kapoor often performs to the film track 'Bebo', which name-checks her widely-known nickname.

Basu also recently teamed up with Priyanka Chopra to sing hip-hop backing vocals.

Kapoor will be seen in August this year performing on stage for Ranbir Kapoor's world tour of musical hits.

The 30-year-old can also be found in Teri Meri Kahaani, releasing on June 22.
