An engineering invention from Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots has gone into service with the Indian military.

An unmanned helicopter that Ranchodas Shamaldas Chanchad aka Phunsukh Wangdufixes repairs in the track 'All Is Well' has been adopted as an anti-terror device.

The Border Security Force (BSF) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have started to use the machine in their counter-insurgency operations.

The helicopter in the Vidhu Vinod Chopra production is the same as the one built by Idea-Forge, a company established by three IIT-Bombay alumni.

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has collaborated with Idea-Forge to refine the unmanned vehicle, naming it Netra.

The project became a recent hit in China two years after its 2009 worldwide release.

Khan's film was also screened at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
