The actors, who married last week, will be seen together in the upcoming film, in which they also tie the knot.
Taurani told DNA India: "They are committed professionals first and that's what I realised through the making of Tere Naal… And every time I see the film, I can see how that reflects in their performances."
He added that the pair have pledged to fully promote the movie ahead of its release later this month.
"They have promised me they will. Of course, I understand they have been busy with the marriage and preparations and undoubtedly, it's an important chapter for them," he said.
"But I'm also sure that Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya is a special film for them. They shot for the film before marriage and it will release post-marriage."
D'Souza and Deshmukh have previously been seen together in Tujhe Meri Kasam and Masti.
In December, Taurani changed the ending of his romance to show the two leads getting married ahead of their real-life wedding.
