Bipasha Basu: 'Everyone thought I was ugly'

Bipasha Basu has revealed that she was described as ugly when she was a teenager.

The actress has previously been a model and makes her own home gym videos.

She told New Kerala: "I was never meant to be beautiful. I was a short, dark and round girl. Nobody thought I was pretty at all. Cruel jokes have been made about it. I think most people were surprised by the way I looked."

In January, the Players star admitted that the first time she tried to lose weight without professional help she injured herself.

The Bengali star said that she used to hide her body to cover her figure before she began exercising.

Basu has previously spoken about how tough it is to work out to look good enough to wear a bikini.
