The 3 Idiots star was speaking from the mountainous region, where he visited the famous floating vegetable gardens in Dal Lake, Mid Day reports.
"I have come to Kashmir after more than ten years," he said. "Last time I came here to shoot Mann. The place is wonderful, the people are nice and hospitable.
"I hope Bollywood starts shooting films here like the good old times. My uncle (filmmaker Nasir Hussain) used to shoot his films in Kashmir."
The actor went on to explain that some parts of 3 Idiots were filmed in the Ladakh region, but he was unable to come to the valley on that occasion.
