Bollywood star Rishi Kapoor has been invited to inaugurate the London School of Economics Students' Union India week.

The Agneepath actor will take part in a discussion on filmmaking in India with Professor of Hindi cinema Rachel Dwyer.

"Rishi Kapoor has been an all-round star all his life from child to father-figure," the School of Oriental and African Studies academic told Digital Spy.

"I loved him as a dancing hero in Karz, as a romantic hero in Kabhi Kabhie and a comic hero in Amar Akbar Antony. However, he is one of the few mature actors who has found new roles for himself as his son, Ranbir, becomes a major star. Films such as Do Dhooni Char remind us he is also a serious actor."

LSE SU India Week will address successes and concerns in different fields, from politics and economics to Bollywood and food. Bollywood choreographer Shiamak Davar's dance troupe have also been invited to perform at the campus.

The week is expected to conclude with a Bollywood night hosted by BBC Asian Network presenters Raj and Pablo, featuring a live performance by 'Why This Kolaveri Di?' remix singer Arjun.

LSE SU India Week runs from February 20-26
