The actor had been threatened with legal action by producer Ramesh Taurani after her unexpected exit from the film.
Dharmesh Tiwari from the Cine and TV Artistes' Association, told Mumbai Mirror :"There is no final settlement yet. Deepika has spoken to me. I met her on Wednesday. But yes, we expect this fight to end in the next 48 hours."
Padukone has allegedly come up with a set of guidelines for producers to adhere to, following earlier schedule changes and filming delays.
"Deepika has five points of concern. If the producers of Race 2 are interested in having her back on board, they will have to look into the conditions. Now the ball is in their court," said a source close to the star.
The actress is said to have insisted on a number of conditions including fixed filming dates and the use of her own personal entourage.
Actors from the 2008 original Saif Ali Khan and Anil Kapoor are joined by John Abraham, Sanjay Dutt, Amisha Patel and Jacqueline Fernandez in the follow-up.
