The newcomer was rumoured to be in line for the sequel to the action thriller Race, but has denied being offered a role.
Fakhri told DNA India: "I am quite happy with the criticism. I think it has helped me hone myself as an actor. I am happy because it helped me recognise my flaws and work on them.
"I am just one film old and I knew there would be flaws, so as long as it is constructive criticism, it's okay."
Fakhri added that she has moved from her hometown New York to settle in Mumbai.
"I missed Mumbai so much! I wanted to come back. In some way, the transition from New York to Mumbai was easy because both the cities have the same vibe," she said. "They are similar in a lot of ways.
"People are friendly, both cities are relatively safe and great fun to be in."
In November, Fakhri admitted that she had found making her Bollywood debut in Rockstar "tough".
It was reported last week that the former model has been cast opposite Arjun Rampal in a new film.
