The actress unveiled the director and critic's latest collection of work at an event on Thursday (April 5).
"Sonam radiated through the evening and very pragmatically requested [that] the media... ask her questions related to the book," Harish Iyer - friend of the writer and cinephile - told Digital Spy.
The star wore an off-white trouser and blouse outfit, accessorised with gold jewellery and sandals, as she read from the collection.
"Beginning with a list of people to thank, Khalid was a wonderful host, smiling and ever cheerful," Iyer added.
As a filmmaker, Mohammed is best known for his releases Silsiilay, Tehzeeb and Fiza.
Kapoor was last seen in The Italian Job remake Players.
