Shahid Kapoor 'calls police on stalker claiming to be wife'

Shahid Kapoor is said to have taken legal action against a stalker who claims to be his wife.

The actor filed a complaint against a woman in her mid-30s who has been harassing him for over a year, reports The Times of India.

Inspector Nandkumar Mhetar of Mumbai's Versova police station, said: "It is a non-cognizable offence and we can, at best, warn her against harassing the actor in future."

The accused stalker is reportedly Vastavikta Pandit, the daughter of well-known veteran actor Raaj Kumar.

Kapoor alleged that Pandit had tailed him in her car, blocked the way of his vehicle and followed him to a number of shooting locations and film studios.

The actor's bodyguards have reportedly had to intervene on a number of occasions.

Pandit had earlier featured in the 2006 project Eight Shani, but found little commercial success in Bollywood.

Kapoor recently secured second place behind Hrithik Roshan in a poll for 2011's 'Sexiest Asian Man in the World'.

Kapoor's next film is opposite Priyanka Chopra in Kunal Kohli's latest.
