Anurag Kashyap has said that he does not want Gangs of Wasseypur to be cut for young audiences.

The director's latest feature was screened during Directors Week at the 65th Cannes Festival.

He told the Hindustan Times: "The film has not gone to the censor board as yet. It is 'A' (adult) film and it will be an 'A' film only. But, of course, we want it to go without any cuts.

"All films are not for kids. This film is not at all for children. Adult audiences will come to watch it for sure.

"We got a lot of compliments but the best one was that everyone in the world will understand the film and everyone will like to watch it."

The movie received praise from US reviewers when it was showcased at Cannes.

Kashyap said that the positive reaction showed that the world's perception of Indian film is changing.
