The London Indian Film Festival is to screen Gandu and Queens! Destiny of Dance.

Festival organisers have said that this year's event will feature circuses, mobsters, cockfights, transvestites and kite-flying.

Festival director Cary Rajinder Sawhney revealed: "As part of the festival we are undertaking several exciting new commissions, mixing film and arts. One of these is Gandu Circus - a live Jungle-rap rock performance by Kolkata-based rapper and revolutionary film director Q.

"This performance will take place on stage at BFI Southbank on June 21 after a screening of Q's film , a compelling story of a young Bengali teenager addicted to rap and sexual fantasies."

Queens! Destiny of Dance stars Bandit Queen actor Seema Biswas as the head of a group of transexual performers.

The film also features Bigg Boss contestant and United Nations invited speaker Laxmi Narayan Tripathi. The screening is a cross promotion with Pride London.

The Satyajit Ray Foundation's Short Film Competition has this year joined LIFF, with the winning director receiving a £1,000 award on the last night of the festival at Cineworld, Haymarket.

The third London Indian Film Festival runs from June 20 to July 3.
