The 3 Idiots star and his creative team will be there on Thursday (June 21) to give their views on the subject of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the pharmaceutical sector, the Hindustan Times reports.
"It's a matter of great pride," said an insider. "The basic idea is to share the research on the subject of medicines. Aamir is personally working hard on it."
Although Khan remained unavailable for comment, his official spokesperson confirmed: "Yes, Aamir has been invited and he would be going there on Thursday."
However, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajeev Shukla said he is unaware of any such development, commenting: "I am not aware of Aamir being given any such permission. It is not easy."
Khan has raised public awareness of social issues such as female foeticide, domestic violence and medical malpractice on his TV show Satyamev Jayate.
The Indian Medical Association accused Khan recently of defaming the medical profession and demanded an apology, but the actor said that he would not apologise.
The Indian Parliament approved a bill to protect children from sexual exploitation after Khan highlighted the issue of child sexual abuse in the second episode of his show and lobbied for the bill to be passed.
