The actor recently underwent surgery for an injury that dates back to an accident on the set of the 1983 film Coolie.
He told The Times of India: "My pace has not slackened! My recent surgeries were long overdue and I deliberately took time off to attend to them. All pending work was completed, and there were no outstandings. And yes, all normal work conditions shall prevail.
"There are five or six [films] on the anvil, but nothing that has been finalised. What has been finalised is KBC [Kaun Banega Crorepati]."
Bachchan will be hosting the next series of the Indian version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire.
He refused to give away anything about changes planned for the programme, saying: "Yes, KBC starts again with me in the new season, but what the innovations would be can only be disclosed after I have permission to do so. Right now they are bound contractually."
News of the veteran actor's death in a car crash in India was circulated on the internet, after a prankster posted a fake blog.
Bachchan will next be seen making a brief appearance as Meyer Wolfsheim in the upcoming 3D version of The Great Gatsby.
