The 42-year-old actor stars opposite Diana Penty and Deepika Padukone, who are 27 and 26 years old respectively, in Cocktail.
He told the Mumbai Mirror: "I think I look 35 at most. Certainly not 42, my real age. If you work and exercise the way I do, 40 is pretty young an age to be a hero in films. In fact, I look forward to playing similar roles in the future. At least for the next ten years."
Khan added that he was not bothered about the response to him playing an action hero in Agent Vinod.
He said: "You can't win all the games in life. Today you may win but tomorrow you can lose as well. However, as a producer, I think I have finally cracked it with Cocktail.
"But these are early days to really get down to counting the box office figures. But the way it is adding up, I must say that the look of the film built a lot of aura around it. I think we have pulled it off."
Cocktail reportedly collected over Rs 10.7 crore (£1.25m) in India on its opening day.
Padukone and Khan gave love advice online in the guise of their characters to promote the romance.
