The project matches the previous box office success of Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty's Golmaal 3 and Singham, which also passed the 100 crore mark.
The comedy achieved an opening weekend of Rs 43.10 crore in India, leading to a total of Rs 66.81 crore in its first week.
The film, which openened worldwide with 2,700 prints, marks the first time actor Abhishek Bachchan has delivered a hit of this size.
Presented by Fox Star Studios and produced by Ajay Devgn Films and Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision, the movie is said to have been well-received by both multiplexes and single screen audiences.
Lead actors Devgn and Bachchan are thought to be planning a success party when Amitabh Bachchan returns from London, where he had been selected to run with the Olympic torch.
