Ekta Kapoor has claimed her films are sexually liberating for Indian cinema-goers.

The producer is behind the sex comedy Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum and biopic The Dirty Picture.

Kapoor told DNA India: "Both my recent films are what I would call sexually liberating, though each in its own way. And it's nothing that we don't see around us.

"It's just that we've put it out on screen. We all laugh on adult and naughty jokes in real life, so why not laugh with on-screen characters?

"By now I'm pretty used to being dragged in one panga after another. My films like The Dirty Picture or Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum facing censor trouble or other such issues may be new, but I have been courting trouble right from the time I set foot in the industry."

In July, Kapoor claimed that censorship is ruining the Indian film industry after she was forced to cut scenes from Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum.

However, she admitted recently that she will change the format of the next release in the franchise after the second film got a critical mauling.
