The actor has bought office space in the capital, according to the Hindustan Times.
A source told the paper: "He had the option of leasing the property. But since he is very serious about the business, he decided to invest in the property instead.
"However, buying office space in London is just the beginning of his bigger plans. He began doing a thorough research of the London property market. He has been a management student and plans every move systematically."
The source continued: "He chose London since as an actor he often travels there. John realised that he would be able to keep a tab on the business this way.
"John wants to start operations in London from a month."
Abraham's first production was the artificial insemination comedy Vicky Donor starring newcomer Ayushmann Khurrana.
In April, he told the media that he wanted to change the way the Indian film industry works.
The 39-year-old said: "Everything is so intensively driven by stars. It's pretty lofty, but I want to drive films with their concepts, with their subjects, rather than with their stars."
