The Southern star has appeared in the record-breaking box office hits Ready and Bol Bachchan.
She told the Hindustan Times: "I can't go out and blow my own trumpet. It's not in my nature. As an actor, it's not my job to be bothered about numbers. We should be bothered about the artistic side of filmmaking and leave figures to producers and directors.
"The Rs 100 crore club talk started with my first film Ghajini. The whole idea of this benchmark kicked off then. I feel like I'm the founding member of the Rs 100 crore club, as far as female actors are concerned!
"And I have constantly renewed my membership in the club with most of my releases."
However, she added: "It's just a coincidence that Ready, Bol Bachchan and Housefull 2 were offered to me back-to-back.
"It wasn't a conscious decision to do only comedies. But I would love to try other genres too."
In June, Thottumkal denied she is leaving her South Indian cinema roots behind for Bollywood.
She has admitted that she wants to carry on starring in more commercial films following her breakthrough role in Ready.
