The first trailer for Rani Mukerji's Aiyyaa has been released.
Co-produced and written by Anurag Kashyap and directed by Sachin Kundalkar, Aiyyaa tells the story of a vivacious Marathi girl played by Mukerji, who falls in love with a man when she becomes captivated by his scent.
Speaking on Twitter, Mausam star Sonam Kapoor commented: "Ok I'm officially obsessed with the trailer of aiyaa.. Rani is brilliant."
Mukerji will reportedly perform three item songs in the film, which has been described as a "quirky and funny love story with a West-South culture clash".
The Dil Bole Hadippa! star is cast opposite South Indian actor Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Aiyyaa is scheduled to release on October 12, 2012.
