The former Miss World is preparing for the release of Barfi!, in which she plays an autistic girl named Jhilmil, and is also bracing herself for the release of her debut song 'In My City' featuring will.i.am.
Speaking to NDTV Movies, Chopra described her professional journey, saying: "I am a girl who came from Bareilly, then Boston and now Bollywood. The world is my oyster and I can be anybody I want to be.
"Who thought a budding engineer would be a movie star? I never expected life to be this good. I love what I do and am blessed I can do all that."
'In My City', the first track from Chopra's debut album, will be used as the theme tune for the NFL Network's football show Thursday Night Kickoff.
The actress explained that while she was both excited and nervous about the public reception for the song, she is proud of her personal achievement, commenting: "Well, I hope it all goes well... It's a huge honour for me and I am glad I have made my country proud."
The full song and an accompanying video for 'In My City' will be released later in the year.
Barfi! releases on September 14.
