Ranbir Kapoor has said his biggest award would be if audiences went to see Barfi! in their droves.

The 29-year-old actor, who walked away with all the major awards for his performance in Rockstar, said that while accolades feel great, audience numbers matter most.

Speaking to IANS, he said: "It feels good when you get an award. But for this, I really hope that people come to watch the film in large numbers. If the audiences see it and it is a hit, and makes a lot of money, I think that's the biggest award anyone can get."

Kapoor, who sings in a promotional video for the film with Anurag Basu, described the director as the "finest filmmaker to work with" and said he would readily work with him again.

"Anurag Basu was the director I was always keen to work with. Even before he narrated the script to me, I had decided I wanted to work with him. And today, I can say with a lot of confidence and a lot of humility that he is the finest filmmaker to work with and I wish to do a film with him again."

In an interview with Digital Spy, Kapoor said that the film "wasn't challenging in the way that people expect" but was a lot of fun.

The story of a deaf-mute boy with an insatiable love of life, Barfi! also stars Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D'Cruz.

The film releases tomorrow (September 14).
