Salman Khan's character will reportedly be even more violent in the planned sequel to Dabangg.

The first film saw him playing a police officer who decides to keep the proceeds of a bank robbery.

A source told Mid Day: "This time Salman has taken the action of the film to a new level. Instead of beating up his enemies with his bare hands, Sallu now has a metallic machine to beat them up. In fact, an elaborate action sequence has been planned to show off the new addition in the film."

It was reported in August that the actor will no longer be able to perform his own stunts because of his recent surgery.

The industry legend also said that he wanted to play "larger than life" characters for all of his films.

Dabangg is still currently the third highest-grossing film ever made in Bollywood.

It was honoured with six awards by the International Indian Film Awards Academy last year.
