Shah Rukh Khan 'Brand Bengal' promotional video wins award

A promotional video for West Bengal featuring Shah Rukh Khan has won an award.

The two-minute promotional video about the state, entitled 'Brand Bengal', has won a coveted 2nd Festival Asia TV and Film award in the travelogue section.



Speaking to PTI about the award, the film's director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury said: "This is very encouraging news for us as the jury liked our film."

The video features images of daily life, industry, art and culture from Bengal, with Shah Rukh Khan providing the narration stating: "Look inside yourself. You will see a new light, a ray of hope that will bring with it a new dawn. There is something special inside you. There is something special about Bengal."

Made by the state government, the film showcases the scenic beauty of the region and its rich culture and heritage.

Khan was announced as the official brand ambassador for West Bengal in February 2012.

The Jab Tak Hai Jaan star's passion for his cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders reportedly prompted him to further his connection with West Bengal.
