The 30-year-old actor has received acclaim for playing a disabled character in Barfi!.
He told The Times of India: "The films that I do or am willing to do are not experiments, they are very special and entertaining films for me. I am not trying to do any experiments.
"If I get any good film, a good story which has the backdrop of rural India, I would love to be a part of it."
In September, the comedy drama was selected as India's entry for the 'Best Foreign Film' category in next year's Academy Awards.
The film's stars received a standing ovation after a screening of Barfi! at the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea.
