The drama is popular with working class girls in India, according to Hindustan Times.
Producer R Balki told the paper: "That our film has influenced a section of the audience to improve its language is awesome.
"English Vinglish is not just about learning English. It's about the determination that the lack of a familiarity will not stop people's aspirations and dreams from growing."
The actress added: "To see our film make such an impact makes me happier about its success. This is the real success of English Vinglish."
She recently revealed she only made a comeback after 15 years because of the strength of the role.
Co-star Cory Hibbs has described Sridevi as a "master of her craft".
