The actor was speaking at the launch of a range of autumn and winter wear at Woodland.
He told IANS: "My fashion statement changes quite often as I think no-one becomes a style guru overnight.
"It's a gradual process. I was quite a simple person, but I evolved a lot. From simpleton from Chandigarh to an MTV boy, I imbibed a lot of style as I met various kinds of people in Mumbai.
"Never forget your personality while dressing up. If you are an introvert person, you can't be radical with your style.
"But if you are an extrovert, wear lots of bright coloured watches and scarves. Also funky shoes work best for a person like me."
Khurrana made his acting breakthrough in the John Abraham-produced Vicky Donor.
Abraham described former video jockey Khurrana as a "complete natural" to Bollywood.
The film's popularity in India reportedly led to a spike in sperm donations.
