Khan told The Times of India: "I think it's the best thing I've done. I'm very, very calm about it. And now it's time to focus on other things and stop worrying about your relationship status and such things.
"The home is settled, thank God, and I am getting on with life. The fact of the matter is that we're all human and we're all trying to make it work and we're all pretty clueless about what's round the corner. But we're hopeful.
"I think fans like stars for very different reasons than why stars like each other. People know what they like about Kareena, or about me. But people don't know what it is about her that I like, or what it is about me that she likes."
He added that his children with his ex-wife Amrita Singh had played a significant part in the ceremony.
"They played quite an important part in the wedding. Ibrahim held the ring for me, Sara held the garlands. I wanted them, and Kareena wanted them, to be very much a part of things. That was something that we had worked our way towards in our relationship," he said.
In September, Kapoor told the media that she would change her surname on getting married.
