Ajay Devgn has claimed that cinema audiences will forget about him in 40 years' time.

The Son of Sardaar star has placed his handprint on UTV's Walk of the Stars in India.

He told The Times of India: "We are currently here and we are in front of the media and people, but I don't think 30 or 40 years from today people would remember stars like us.

"There have been instances, there have been stars in the past, who the current generation does not remember and have forgotten them.

"They have been much bigger stars than what we are and if you can have all of them there [on the sidewalk] so that their memory remains. I think they should live on, so it's a fabulous thing to do."

He was joined by his co-star Sonakshi Sinha, who made her debut in last year's hit Dabangg.

She added: "I am over the moon because my handprint gets to be with some of the biggest stars in our country today. I feel really honoured and privileged that I got the opportunity so early in my career."

Earlier this week Devgn revealed his Diwali release Son of Sardaar had strong advance ticket sales despite clashing with Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

The actor recently said that he wants to stop Bollywood being dominated by big name actors and production companies.
