Singer Remo confirmed the news in a statement, saying: "Yes, it is true that we have thought about this. We want to execute it when we shoot our next song where Prabhu features with me.

"Everyone knows how deeply I respect Michael Jackson and when I'm doing a film on dancing, it is impossible to not have something on him."

Choreographer Ganesh Acharya, who was also strongly influenced by Jackson, will be part of the project as well.

Lauren Gottlieb, winner of So You Think You Can Dance, has reportedly been approached to play the female lead in the film, along with several contestants in the Indian dance reality show Dance India Dance.

The Bollywood industry paid their tributes to Michael Jackson following his death in 2009, aged 50.

The legendary star was honoured at the IIFA Rocks event where Bollywood playback singer Sonu Nigam performed the song 'Thank You for the Legacy' with Jermaine Jackson, marking the second anniversary of Jackson's death.
