Kajol, who starred in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge - one of Yash Raj's biggest hits - and the Aamir Khan starrer Fanaa, did not make an appearance at the premiere held in honour of the late Yash Chopra.

Her omission apparently resulted from an ongoing dispute between Ajay Devgn Films and Yash Raj Films after Devgn issued an official complaint alleging that YRF was using its dominant position to ask exhibitors to dedicate more screens to its film Jab Tak Hai Jaan, adversely affecting Devgn's Son of Sardaar, which released on the same day.
Despite predictions that both films would suffer losses at the box office as a result of the dual releases, Son of Sardaar garnered Rs 76 crore in eight days.
"The collections have been extraordinary and they are extraordinary in the weekdays," Devgn said. "The second week is also going to be fabulous with 300 more screens. I am thrilled.
"I had confidence in my product and I had faith in right and wrong. I knew I was right. I knew that eventually I will get what I deserve."
Devgn and wife Kajol are currently in Goa for a family holiday.
