Kareena Kapoor 'to base character on CNN reporter Christiane Amanpour'

Kareena Kapoor is reportedly basing her next role on the famous international CNN reporter Christiane Amanpour.

The actress will take on the role of a journalist in Prakash Jha's Satyagraha.

A source told the Hindustan Times: "She is doing really intense research for this role. Her part in the film is difficult and she wants to make sure she does complete justice to it.

"Kareena has asked for videos of the major stories reported by Christiane. She has also asked for documentaries based on her and all the interviews she has done along with videos of her being interviewed.

"Since she's taking inspiration from such a renowned reporter, she doesn't want to mess it up in any way."

Kapoor has confirmed she has taken on the drama film.

"I really wanted to do Satyagraha, because I wanted to work with Prakash Jha and even Ajay Devgn, with whom he has a great track record. I'm excited to be part of such a performance-oriented film," she said.

The actress recently said that she has no interest in going on to direct films herself.

She will next be seen performing an item number in Dabangg 2.
