The Great Gatsby star won 43% of the votes in the Vuclip Icons of the Year 2012 survey, while Sridevi beat actresses such as Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, winning 33% of the votes.
Speaking to IANS, Sridevi said: "I am humbled to see the overwhelming response from my fans. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them once again for their love, blessings and unstinted support towards me and my movies. Whatever I have achieved in life is because of the love and support of my fans."
The 47-year-old actress recently made her big screen comeback, receiving widespread acclaim for her performance in English Vinglish. It was reported that the film had inspired young Dalit girls to learn English.
Oscar winner AR Rahman received 70% of the votes for the 'Most Admired Composer'. The 'Most Admired Hollywood Actor' was Johnny Depp while Lady Gaga was voted the 'Most Admired International Female Singer'.

Bachchan, who was this year honoured by the Australian government for his contribution towards Indian cinema, recently said he was amazed people still think of him as an icon.
