"Rajdhani Express may be the year's first release but it is already in the running for the worst film of the year. Or ever," said a Mumbai Mirror review.
Bollywood trade analyst Joginder Tuteja suggested that the socio-political thriller was actually more like a comedy.
"Watching Rajdhani Express. Leander Paes is (unintentionally) hilarious. Should have been in a Rohit Shetty film," he said.
Other critics have made reference to the film's railway theme in their reviews. "Rajdhani Express: Pace not the problem, Paes is," wrote The Hindu.
"Rajdhani Express is a train wreck," headlined the Rediff review.
The Ashok Kohli-directed project is out now.
