Manisha Koirala has announced she plans to write an autobiography.

The 42-year-old actress, who was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer, said she will share her experience of struggling with the illness in the story of her life.

Writing on Facebook, she said: "Is it a curse or a by default a wish come true? Would be writing my thoughts n this process of discovery in my autobiography... I think I am ready now for it..there is lot to achieve. Again and again thank you namann ji. You are the best teacher one can have.. Wisdom, compassion and humbleness personified.. I m blessed (sic)."

The Bhoot Returns star is said to have turned towards spirituality for support.

"Doing my best n leaving rest to Bhagwan...I noticed surrendering gives peace," she wrote. "Learning a lot through this process.. actually most of my spiritual learnings are no more a concept but now all are being experienced.. actualised!!"

The actress underwent surgery in New York in December 2012 and had her first chemotherapy session earlier this month.

Koirala, who found fame in the '90s with films such as 1942: A Love Story and Mani Ratnam's Bombay, made a comeback with Ram Gopal Varma's Bhoot Returns after her divorce.

It was widely rumoured that Madhur Bhandarkar's movie Heroine was based on Koirala's fading career.
