Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan win at 19th Screen Awards

Amitabh Bachchan and son Abhishek have both won trophies at the 19th Annual Screen Awards.

Abhishek was awarded the trophy for 'Best Comic Role' in Bol Bachchan, while Amitabh received a special 'icon of the country' award, IANS reports.

Writing on Twitter, The Great Gatsby star said: "Father [and] son win awards at Screen... Abhishek best comedy role and yours truly for outcome of a poll [of] all India for iconic legend.

"There is pride, joy and gratefulness... How much effort is put in to reward talent and creativity," he said.

Abhishek also took to Twitter to thank the team of Bol Bachchan, saying: "Thank you all for the wishes for winning the Screen Award for best actor in a comic role. Thank you ROHIT and @ajaydevgn @1Prachidesai Asin. And the entire team who worked on the film.

"I dedicate this award to all of you who worked so hard on the film."

Paan Singh Tomar and Barfi! were jointly awarded the 'Best Movie' prize, while the film's respective stars Irrfan Khan and Ranbir Kapoor shared the 'Best Actor' trophy.

Hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, the event also paid a special tribute to Jab Tak Hain Jaan director Yash Chopra, who was posthumously conferred with a lifetime achievement award.
