"It is the most embarrassing and awkward moment when at gatherings they start to play your song as soon as you enter," Bachchan wrote on Twitter.

"Also... the most unthinkably desolate moment when on the dance floor the DJ starts spinning your songs one after the other!!" he added.

Bachchan added that he also feels there is an expectation for him to perform to the music.

"Worse... everyone stops and builds a circle around you in anticipation of a solo performance... damn, that strain was 30 years ago."

The Bollywood actor will be seen next in a small role alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire, Joel Edgerton and Isla Fisher in The Great Gatsby, releasing in May.
