Emraan Hashmi to star with Bond girl Maryam D'Abo

Emraan Hashmi is to star with former Bond girl Maryam d'Abo in his first Hollywood venture.

D'Abo, who starred in the James Bond movie The Living Daylights in 1987, stars opposite Hashmi in the film directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Danis Tanovic and produced by Anurag Kashyap.

Speaking to NDTV, producer Guneet Monga confirmed the news, saying: "Yes, she is doing the film and we are extremely happy at the association."

A source added: "Maryam is playing an important role in the film and it was director Danis Tanovic's idea to cast her."

Hashmi, who recently confirmed that he has been cast in a film with Kareena Kapoor, said that unusual couples work better in films.

D'Abo is said to have arrived in Patiala, where the film is currently being shot.

Tanovic won an Academy Award for 'Best Foreign Language Film' in 2001 for No Man's Land.
