The actor will be next seen playing a mother in the upcoming horror film Aatma.
She told Mid Day: "With the exception of Vidya Balan, I don't know if any actress or any of my contemporaries who can boast of great films they have done. It could be a Rs 100 crore film but I don't know what content there is for a girl to do.
"I think each of us are talented but we don't have projects to showcase our talent. So if a horror film is giving me that platform, why should I not take up the project? We write really bad roles for women.
"I get an offer of ten horror films per week. Maybe I should become a horror specialist. I need to do something new soon."
She recently said that attractive women are less likely to get interesting roles in films.
In November, the 34-year-old described filmmaking in India as a very "hero-centric" industry.
