Speaking about women in Hindi film, OMkar told Digital Spy: "Priyanka Chopra is iconic as she is not just an actress, but also a successful singer in her own right, being marketed by Universal Music and working with the likes of will.i.am."

She continued: "Though the 'pull' of these films is very much driven by the acting clans of Bollywood, like the Khans, Roshans, Kumars, Kapoors, Devgns, Bachchans of Bollywood, the key to marketing the films is the leading ladies.

"Although very few actresses have meaty roles to play, like Vidya Balan in Kahaani or The Dirty Picture, that is a changing trend.

"One of India's most well-known actresses is new mother Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, a fixture at Cannes and constantly in the media eye. She may bear the famous Bachchan surname due to marriage, but her prowess as a global icon is remarkable."

Featuring 32 women in film, the special edition of the magazine celebrates women's achievement in cinema globally, and also features stars such as Gemma Arterton, Nicole Kidman and Rosario Dawson.

OMkar, the Bollywood editor for Cineworld Cinemas, is featured on the cover in recognition of her work with Indian film in the UK.

MovieScope's 'Women in Film' issue is available to purchase now.
