Writing on his blog, Bachchan said of the movie: "I see Lincoln again for the second time in two days and find it even more engrossing.

"The writing is splendid and witty and of a calibre, which has been lost in the speed vocabulary of today's generation of conversation - rapid, filled with oodles of brevity, and not really comprehensible to my lot.

"I am filled with not just the historical significance of the film, but also the detail and competence of performance, not just for Mr Daniel Day-Lewis, and other prominent artists that adorn the screen during the course of the film, but for those that stand at distance and say nothing, but are with their effort in some way responsible for the success of the moment."

The Great Gatsby star chaired a masterclass with the famed director before an audience of many of India's most noted filmmakers.

The movie - a co-production between Spielberg's banner DreamWorks and Anil Ambani's Reliance Entertainment - also won the award for 'Best Production Design'.
