The head of Red Chillies USA and head of Digital and Merchandising at Red Chillies said that her artwork aims to capture the faces, characters and stories immortalised by filmmakers in Bollywood over the last century.
Gupta told Digital Spy: "I am a filmmaker who grew up watching most of the icons I have painted.
"Since everyone was celebrating, I just wanted to pay tribute in my own small way. Living in New York - when I meet people - for them Bollywood means vibrancy and lots of colours. I haven't seen a lot of artists translating Bollywood into art, so I decided to give this flavour.
"And for those who don't know the actors or Bollywood, these are interesting vibrant faces with a lot of charisma which can adorn their walls."
The collection of digital art features some of the biggest names in Hindi film such as Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor.
Gupta's collection also explores iconic Indian stars from earlier periods of Indian cinema, including Devika Rani, Sunil Dutt, Kishore Kumar and Raj Kapoor.
The visual artist uses the medium of Adobe creative software, employing sketching, water colour style painting and manipulation of images and filters to create each work.
"Shailja is very talented and it shows in the kind of work she does. Her project Glimpses - 100 years of Indian Cinema is a beautiful demonstration of talent, creativity and technology coming together," said Umang Bedi, managing director of Adobe South Asia.
