Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha's Pistol has been impacted by the current crisis facing the Indian rupee.

"We have made the decision to shoot in India. Akshay and Sonakshi were to shoot for ten days for a song in the US. But I think it is irresponsible to spend in dollars now," Sinha told The Times of India.

The rate of exchange fell to a record low of 65 rupees to the dollar earlier this week, with the Indian currency losing close to 20% of its value in recent months.

Directed by Ghajini filmmaker AR Murugadoss, the project is a remake of the 2012 Tamil blockbuster Thuppakki.

Kumar and Sinha recently starred together in new release Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Dobaara

Pistol releases January 10, 2014.
